Putting together the perfect street style outfit that makes you paparazzi-worthy can be tricky. But Tyler Lambert, designer of LAMBERT, loved by it girls like Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and Hailey Baldwin, knows all the tricks. He sat down with Stylish on March 20 to talk about his tips for perfecting a street style look, the trends we can expect to see and the best places you can rock his casual yet chic clothing at — scroll through to see what he said!
Nail These Staples
“Vintage denim is a must,” Lambert says. “I recommend getting a vintage denim jacket or repurposed jeans.” Not only does this keep you looking on trend, but it’s also a super sustainable way to shop. He continues, “Besides those essentials, I think a simple black pullover hoodie, an oversized blazer from a thrift store and a vintage designer cross-body purse with plain Dr. Martens or Nike Airforce Ones are a perfect way to tie a look together.” He continues, “Street style is about pulling every style into one and mixing athletic, casual ware with luxury designer. You can’t go wrong and it’s a lot of fun!”

The Trends He’s Sick Of — and What He Can’t Wait to See Come Back
Say goodbye to your laced-up items, because Lambert is completely over the trend. “I am tired of laced-up leather or pleather crotch pants, laced jackets or any laced-up-the-side pants,” he reveals. As for what he expects we’ll see more of in the future? “I feel like I am exposing secrets and I love it!,” he exclaims. “A major trend I am predicting to come back is vests. They’ll be anything from oversized mens vests to puffer vests and sweater vests. And you can definitely expect to see it come back within my brand,” the designer dishes.
The Reason Why Celebs Flock to His Brand
Kendall, Kylie, Bella and Hailey can’t get enough of LAMBERT and it’s because his vintage pieces are original. “I spend a great portion of my time sourcing unique but similar items, so when a vintage product is ‘one of one’ it truly is individual and no other item is the same,” he explains. “It brings personality to their style and with everyone trying to set a new, higher bar, having an original piece is truly special,” Lambert says.
His Tips for Making Streetwear Chic
“Wear streetwear unexpectedly where you wouldn’t normally — maybe to the movies — to get a great Instagram picture on those red theater chairs,” the 21-year-old recommends. He also suggests borrowing things from your parents, siblings and friends. “It’s another universe of pieces to play with and from different decades most often.” He continues, “Fashion changes so fast, so maybe someone won’t think it’s chic, but just do it, wear it. It may be you who is setting the new trend.”
